A Rough Start

“Hi. I’m John, a 70-year-old resident of Hilldales, having called this place home since 2019. My journey here wasn’t easy. Before Hilldales, I was in a bad way, grappling with personal losses and issues that led me down a path of alcohol dependency. It was a struggle that culminated in me spending Christmas in prison – a wake-up call that led me to vow to turn my life around.”

John’s story, unfortunately, resonates with many. The challenges of addiction and its consequences are harsh realities for several individuals. However, it's not the fall that defines us but our willingness to rise, a philosophy embodied by Hilldales Residential.

“Stopping drinking was one of the hardest periods of my life, but I wasn’t alone. The staff at Hilldales, along with my dear friends Magnus and Carol, were my pillars.
